Vajdahunyad Castle

Vajdahunyad Castle

It is located on a little island in the middle of the city park, and is named (I think) after the architect who projected it. What you see in the picture is tipically "Dracula-style", and was inspired by a Transylvanian fortress, but the entire building is far bigger, also including baroque and romanesque wings.

The castle was built as a temporary structure for the Millenary Exhibition of 1896, and is fate was quite like the one of Tour Eiffel: people liked it so much that it had to be rebuilt in bricks and stone. It was surely worth it.
