Statue of St Stephen

Statue of St Stephen

It is placed near Matthias Church. Stephen (István) was crowned king of Hungary on Christmas Day of the year 1000, and reigned till the year 1038. The legend tells that he received the crown kept at the National Museum, which actually dates back to the 12th century.
