Niagara Falls with Rainbow
and Indians
Samuel Morse made this painting of the falls before
tiring of being an artist and starting the telecomunications industry with the
invention of the telegraph and the Morse code. This view, not quite picturesque
or sublime, includes a characteristic rainbow and lines of Indians waiting for
the chance to explain nature to the "White Man."
