I'm working on the Myspell version for Open Office
The data inside are the most free complete lexicon of italian language in the net.
Version 2.3 of 15 October 2001 - the bigger - over 185.000
words.

Installation Instructions
1) download the packed file
ispell-it2001.tgz - S.Marcus
Version
2) unpack it
tar xvzf ispell-it2001.tgz
3) go inside directory and make hash file
cd ispell-it ;
cd ispell-it ; make all
4) install file in the same directory where others dictionary
are
(normally /usr/lib/ispell verify it with
ls -l /usr/lib/ispell/*hash
if not other .hash files are present READ the INSTALL
files )
if other .hash files are present do
cp italian.hash /usr/lib/ispell
5) try the stuff
ispell -d italian -p italian.dict italian_text
were -p italian mean that the file $HOME/italian.dict
will be used for
new personal words and "italian_text" is a text in Italian
